 * Update on how we are supporting Families during the Corona Virus outbreak*

Our mission is to be there for parents when they need us most. We are aware that many parents are finding the current situation tough and, during this period,  we would like to offer our non-judgemental, emotional support to as many people as we can.
We are therefore opening up our support to all parents with a child under 18.
Our volunteers will provide a listening ear, words of support and encouragement and signposting and support to access service digitally. Parents can choose text, phone or video chat.
We are taking referrals and self-referrals through our email – homestart.shpt@gmail.com

Referrers

We are still providing weekly flexible support to our families via Telephone/Video/Text service, therefore Referrals are still being taken and can be matched as appropriate. For the Happy Families happy Futures Programme we are still taking referrals and families would receive the programme by Skype or Zoom and a co-ordinator would facilitate this. Our Admin staff are not working from the office so please Do not call the office number. Referrals can sent to our email address: Homestart.shpt@gmail.com or our office mobile 07307 873163 or if you require a copy of our referral form and cannot download it from the website then please Email us.

Families
We are still accepting referrals for our  Happy Families, Happy Futures programmes.
Are you and your partner or ex-partner struggling to communicate, having the same arguments over and over again, feeling unsupported by each other.
Our Happy Families, Happy Futures programmes could help you to improve communication, problem solve, and strengthen your emotional well-being.
The courses are delivered digitally using Skype or Zoom.  If you would like to know more or to make a referral, email us at homestart.shpt@gmail.com

Having a friend can be one of the most enriching and supportive relationships in a person’s life … and it can easily be taken for granted. At Home-Start South & West Devon we value friendship.
Many parents, desperate to do the right thing to give their children the best start in life, find they are fighting against the odds.

What some parents may see as a ‘simple trip out to the shops’ for a parent who has triplets in tow can seem impossible.

Home-Start South & West Devon supports parents with at least one child under 12 who are dealing with issues such as…

  • isolation
  • sickness
  • disability
  • mental health
  • domestic abuse
  • twins/triplets
  • difficult relationships

We can help these parents to feel that the ‘impossible’ is possible!

One parent described Home-Start as ‘ARMBANDS IN DEEP WATER’ because we offer a lifeline to parents who feel overwhelmed and in desperate need of support, reassurance and friendship.

Home-Start South & West Devon supports families in the areas of Plymouth, Torbay, West Devon and the South Hams.

What to expect from us
